12835 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. We welcome you to the website of The Parish Church of St. Columba. As a welcoming and close community of believers, we invite you to join
us in worship and in our mission to fulfill our Christian calling which
is to be The Church and The Body of Christ, whose members are united in
love and service to God and to one another under the headship of our Lord
Jesus Christ.
Our Episcopal congregation was first formed in 1898.
In 1951, we moved to our very special location in an old summerhouse
mansion perched on a hill overlooking Tomales Bay, in Inverness, California.
This center of worship includes a Retreat
House for Individual Retreats
and Group Retreats accommodating as many as 32 guests. A full kitchen,
dining and meeting areas complement our beautiful redwood Sanctuary and
Chapel.
Adjacent to the Pt. Reyes National Seashore where we are surrounded by the abundant beauty and glory of God's creation, we worship in harmony and appreciation for His power and presence. In addition to members who are fortunate enough to live amongst the beauty of West Marin (county), several members in regular attendance 'commute' more than an hour each way to participate in our weekly sharing of the Eucharist. We also count a formal organization of the 'Friends of St. Columba' among our blessings of community. In addition to their periodic visits for worship, the "Friends" come together for and "In-Gathering Retreat" in June of every year. We are an Episcopal Church, members of the Episcopal
Diocese of California, with strong ties to the Anglican communion. Our
weekly 10 A.M. Sunday services alternate between Rite I and Rite II of
the Book of Common Prayer. Sunday services are followed by a generous
and gregarious "coffee hour."
Worship gatherings in addition to Sunday
service include "House
Church" pot-luck gatherings alternating Monday evenings in Inverness and
in Albany as well as weekly Men's Prayer Group meetings in Inverness and/or
Fairfax or San Rafael.
We hope that we might look forward to your joining us in worship soon.
